What are some qualities to look for in a hamster, and where should I get him from?

Should I get a girl or a boy? Should I get her from somewhere like petco/A place in mall

Should I, before go and get a house (Erm, cage-thingy) thinkgy, and then get him later?

Is it best to put him more near this window (Window wall, though not under window, few feet away) Or move counter to put it on other side.

Whats a good name from video games…hmm…mario?…nah…hrm…Master cheif isn’t really a good name, roffle.

There are no breeders in MN near me.

There is a breed standard for hamsters. You can find it on many breeders’ websites. Start with AAA Hamstery. You can also look at Hamsters Galore, Hamsters in Focus, Chesapeake Hamstery, and Hamsterrific. As far as type, a hamster should be as large as possible without being fat. It should have a very cobby body, not long and narrow. The head should be broad and squared off, not narrow and pointy like a mouse or rat. The eyes should be bright and clear, and the coat should be dense, soft, and clean. Now, that is the standard for breeding or showing. For pets, you don’t have to worry as much about type. What is much more important than any of that is looking for a healthy, friendly animal that has been socialized. Do not just pick the prettiest color. Be sure you hold the hamtsers and spend time watching how they respond to you. Choose the one that is least scared of you and that lets you handle it the easiest. You don’t want to pick one based on color, not hold it, then find out when you get it home that it bites you! Be careful placing the cage near a window. Be sure there is no draft-hamsters don’t cope well with cold. You also don’t want it in the sun where it will get too hot. It’s a good idea to get the cage home and set up before bringing home the hamster. He will need a bit of time to settle in when you bring him home. Get a good quality food mix for him, then give him bits of bread, fruit, and vegetables as treats to supplement his diet. He will also enjoy chewing on dog biscuits. They will help keep him from chewing on the cage so much, too. If you want to buy from a breeder, check the breeders section of Hamsters Galore online. You might find one listed not too far from you. If you buy from a pet store, ask them if they have had any problems with wet tail. If so, don’t buy there. Also ask if they keep hamsters separated by sex. Good stores will not keep males and females together because it will lead to unwanted litters. Good luck, and enjoy your new pet! They are a lot of fun!

Good watch but I have some questions, can anyone help??

I love the watch so far, but I have a couple questions: 

How can I view my calories burned during my working? I can only see calories burned in the summary after I exit the workout. I try to burn a certain amount and I have no way of knowing where I am at. 

Second, if I am at the gym I run then go lift weights, how do I turn off the footpod function but keep the heartrate monitor going? When I turn off the footpod and continue to workout the watch yells at me and says Check Footpod! I dont need the footpod function while lifting weights but I still want to monitor my the rest of my workout. 

For those of you who cant see the font on the screen just hold down the up or down botton to zoom into whatever feature you have displayed on the screen.

I’m a beginner/intermediate runner and I am so happy I bought this HRM. The feature set is amazing for the price. I especially like the summaries of the training sessions and the weekly totals. The chest strap is comfortable and I haven’t had any problems with losing the signal (about 4 hours of total use so far). I was very surprised to find that I can program my own training HR zone profiles. The OwnZone feature and the VO2 estimator are really cool. Honestly, I would have still been happy without those features. I didn’t get the foot accessory or the GPS accessory but I like that fact that those options available just in case I ever decide to upgrade. The ease of use is wonderful. I was able to do my first training session and review the summary without even reading the instructions. With just a few minutes of looking through the manual I was able to learn more about the advanced features. Bottom line, I’d recommend it to a friend or give it as a gift, no question!

Does this number make sense?

I am 5 feet 11 inches, weight 237 pounds.

I just purchased a heart rate monitor with a chest strap that computes calorie burn during an exercise.

I decided to use it on a boot camp class at 24 hour fitness.

It was a really intense work out. I couldn’t keep up al the way.

I have been working out consistantlyfor almosta year so I am not totally out of shape.

Anyways, at the end of my work out, my HRM said I burned 1300 calories.

I was just wondering if that number makes sense, or is it too high to be credible?
