G’day mate. I had the same problem with mine. I am using a CK-7W Nokia car kit with the Nokia CR-28 cradle. This cradle incoporates an antenna coupler.

My setup is N73 Phone, CK-7W Car Kit Nokia, Nokia CR-28 Cradle and a 7db Broomstick 3G/GSM/CDMA antenna.

Note the CR-28 is designed for the Nokia 3230 however the N73 fits perfect.
